Charles Darnay paragraph

This picture here is Charles Darnay from A Tale of Two Cities. He is a character that was first seen in court when he was accused of something. Darnay got out of that predicament but he still is pretty suspicious because the way Dickens characterizes him. There are not many ways in which the author characterizes Darney. Here are some illustrations that characterize Charles Darnay. First,When Lorry is talking to Darnay, and calls him feint. Darney says to Mr. Lorry ,"I begin to think I am faint"(Dickens 62). What this quote means is that he is gloomy, very morose. Maybe kind of like a ghost, also in my drawing he looks very feint. Second, when the author is classifying Darnay, Dickens writes' ,"In this age, he would have been a professor, in that age, he was a tutor"(Dickens 99). What this quote means is that Darnay is very smart. Saying he is smart can mean lots of things. He could be sneakier and more suspicious. Or it could be the opposite. Who knows? Lastly, The author, again classifies Darnay writing ,"He studied much, slept little, sustained a great deal of fatigue with ease, and was equably cheerful"(Dickens 100). What this quote means is that he is intelligent, sleeps terribly but still is quite jolly and gets a lot of stress but still is okay. This sounds like a present college student and this makes Darnay seem different than the other people in this book. In conclusion, Charles Darnay may be a mysterious and suspicious person but he has good qualities, being intelligent and studious. If it were a type of person, I would classify him as a college student. But if it were an object I would pick a magnet because everything seems to go to him.

Light/Dark paragraph

In the book A Tale of Two Cities there is a chapter that gives a couple of light and dark phrases and the phrases relate to the characters in some sort of way. In this chapter, Mr. Lorry and Defarge go to meet Monsieur Manette. It happens so that Mr.Lorry knows Monsieur Manette but he does not recognize Mr. Lorry at first. During this chapter, there is a bunch of phrases that associate with light and dark and there is a tone for the illustrations. One example is when Defarge wanted more light in the room, so Monsieur Manette opens the door and when he does, "he had put up a hand between his eyes and the light"(Dickens 30).What this quote means is that since Monsieur Manette has been in prison for 18 years, he doesn't want to go outside because he is not used to it. So in the illustration, Monsieur Manette is trying to physically block off the light because he is more suited in darkness after he was in prison for so long. The second illustration that shows light and dark is when the author describes the forehead of Monsieur Manette and it says, "gradually forced themselves through the black must that had fallen on him"(Dickens 32). This quote does not look like it describes his forehead. If its read by what it is, it sounds like he was once good but turned bad. As if going to prison was the que of when he turned bad and sunk deeper into the darkness. The last illustration that shows light and dark is when Monsieur Manette is looking at Mr. Lorry to see if he recognizes him and after he looked at Mr. Lorry it says, "Darkness had fallen on him in its place"(Dickens 32). In this illustration, when it says that it had fallen into place I think it means he remembers the dark memories of his past and that since he saw Mr. Lorry, he remembers his past. Since Mr.Lorry looks like a woman Monsieur Manette knows and that is important to him, he got a glimpse of his past life. In conclusion, A Tale of Two Cities show lots of illustrations of light vs. dark. Especially in this chapter which is Chapter 6, book 1. But in all these phrases the best thing to say the tone was is hopeful. It is hopeful because Monsieur Manette is trying to be changed by Mr. Lorry and Defarge. They are hopeful to help him remember who he is and to bring him out of the darkness which for so long he was in.

Winehouse

This is a picture of the Winehouse in A Tale of Two Cities where in some scenes the author displays foreshadowing. Charles Dickens displays foreshadowing multiple times where he hints to the reader what is going on later in the book, story, excerpt, etc.. In y opinion, the Winehouse description of its surroundings displays how desperate the people are. One example of this is when the author says, "All the people within reach had suspended their business, or their idleness, to run to the spot and drink some wine"(Dickens 20). What this quote simply means is that since the wine fell, people came to drink it because it was free. Another example is when the author says, "Some men kneeled down, made scoops of their two hands joined, and sipped, or tried to help women bent over their shoulders, to sip, before the wine had all run out between their fingers"(Dickens 21). This means the people are trying to get every last ounce of the wine to drink it because its free. The last example that supports that the people are desperate is that when the author describes the people like "Samples of a people that had undergone a terrible grinding and re-grinding in the mill"(Dickens 21). What this quote means is that they have to work extra hours for the money. But in general anyone can do that but if they take stuff for free, absolutely anything then its being desperate. In conclusion, these people in A Tale of Two Cities are desperate people and the wine shop is their most comely and homely place.

Importance of Family

What is the Importance of Family? The Importance of Family is to keep you secured with backup. Backup as in people that you can trust for your whole entire life because you share blood and for a couple of years you live together. This is similar to the phrase "Nothing is tighter than Family." I believe in this phrase because whenever I need help I rely on Family first. But some people might get annoyed with Family because of all the rules and chores. I can understand this, being annoyed with doing chores and following rules. Its becomes redundant. But the real fact is that rules and chores help us throughout our life, its life rules. If we didn't have these rules what would happen to the next generation? No rules=future kids fooling around all the time and they will mature later than usual. No rules=future kids being lazy maybe and don't know their limits when fooling around. That is why Family makes these rules so we are secure and don't do bad things such as break everything we see. If you read my "My Piano" then you know that my Ipod and my pugs are very important to me. The reason they are very important to me is because my Family gave it to me. If a friend gave it to me it wouldn't have been as important to me, because friends go and Family stays. But as you get older you start to get a feeling your growing away from Family but it can never actually happen. Since your Family's blood is in your veins,  your always connected in a way no matter what. So since your connected no matter what, you tell Family your problems, feelings, and things that are your mind because you trust them. It is a hard relationship but in my opinion, what im saying is true. The Importance of Family is very important because if you didn't have this backup, what you would be left with is not much. You would have friends that could betray you since friends are not like Family and you can grow apart permanently. You would have to be independent and solve your own problems alone, and that is difficult to do. Maybe you can have friends that can temporarily act as Family, like there are some people that feel like Family but are actually not, eventually you will grow apart or possibly you will become better friends. In conclusion the importance of Family is one of the most important attributes in life and if you didn't have Family, life for you won't be no crystal stair.

My "Piano"

In ATGB, there came a piano and it was Francie`s family most prized possession. The origin of the piano is from a friend and she didn`t pick it up and probably will never pick it up so now it is something special to Francie`s family. A "piano" is a prize possession. One out of some of my prize possessions is my first Ipod touch. I got it for Christmas 3 or 4 years ago and it was a present from my Dad. It was the latest technology back then and now to this day I still have it and it looks brand new. It is considered my "Piano" because I always use it and it was a gift from my Dad. I specifically asked for it and being super surprised since it was expensive I got it. I have other "Pianos" but this is one of the objects I use daily. I wanted this ipod touch because one of my best friends at the time, Alex had tons of Apple devices and he showed me his ipod. I was like WOAHHHHHHH that it had a touch screen. I didn`t see anything like it because I was used to the Wii, Xbox, and PS3 which had controllers. I was also used to phones without touch screens. The slide and flip phones .So when I saw this Ipod I was excited and wanted to use it immediately. I usually just watch videos and play games on it but those were the best times. Another one of  my "pianos" is the pugs I got since I can remember. Pugs are my favorite breed of dog and I got 2 pugs for my birthday. They are not real but they are important to me because I got it for my Birthday at approximately age 2-5. I named them as my favorite foods from KFC. Mashedpotatoes and Gravy. Realizing that I called them by my favorite foods from KFC now, I find it funny. I can clearly remember the day when I got them. I didn`t know what a pug was when I was little, but I did know what a bulldog was, and I thought a bulldog was a pug. So I asked for a bulldog. But when my Dad bought it. I KNEW it was the wrong dog. I remember saying that it was black and brown and my Dad finally guessed what it was. In conclusion, these "pianos" are important to me because there is a story behind each item. My ipod, and Mash and Gravy.

Busy

9/20/15
Hey, Justin here.
I had a VERY busy weekend.
It started off on Friday after school. I chilled with my neighbors and went to a meeting with them. It was boring but I learned a lot. The meeting ended at 11 at night and the next day was also busy.

On Saturday I went to my neighbors house again, and we played Ultimate Frisbee.I was OKAY at it I guess. Then around the afternoon My other friend from Everett came. His name is Sam and we went to another one of my friends house. We basically played Video games all the time there. But that day we played tag and it was intense. The next day was even more busy.

On Sunday I went to the beach with the people I went on the meeting to on Friday. We had to drive to Newbury Port. But it was a long day, and the drive was worth it. We played a game called Newcomb and we played volleyball. I was a savage at Newcomb. People be like "Ooooooooooh, JUSTIN!" But I wasn't so hot on volleyball cause it was the first thing we did there. But in Newcomb I belly-flopped on the sand trying to dive to get the ball. At first I was like "Oh dawg that didn't hurt" but then It was hurt like crazy. Well anyway we went to get ice cream at 7 at night. Then I finally came home at 7:30 and I didn't do my hw cause I was busy. So Im procrastinating rn to get it done.

About me.

Hello my name is Justin, there are a lot of things about me that is unique. One thing is that I am a break dancer and is the  best at that in Woburn, cause I am the only break dancer. Second thing is my favorite food is spam. People tell me that spam is disgusting. Yes it is disgusting raw but if you didn't try it cooked, don`t judge. Lastly, I am a hands-on learner which is about 5% of the population. Because I am a hands-on learner Its hard to teach myself how to break dance since I am self taught. But I ended up going through it.
So, I already did an About Me before; but I realized it wasn`t long enough. So that's why you see it differently than before. Well anyway, I am a 14 year old Korean kid that lives in Woburn and goes to Woburn high. Its my first year there and its a journey experience, being so much different than the Joyce. I have a brother named James that likes to copy things that people do. He is a junior in high school. I am athletic and really talented. My mom is strict but my Dad`s is not. My luck is horrible, I always get the bad side of the deal. My mom favors my brother and my Dad's neutral to which side he is on. I can't play video games often or watch tv often cause my mom thinks playing on weekends is still a lot more than an average person my age plays. Well that is MY About Me. I probably over exaggerated things.
